Singapore 2016
Old Airport Road Food Centre is one of the many hawker centres in Singapore. Each one has dozens of food stands like the ones you see in the background - each specializing in one or two dishers. The hawker centres were one of the highlights of the trip for me. There were so many different food options - Chinese, Indian, Malaysian, etc.
We went to these places every day for "brunch" (since we were getting up at noon or so every day after enjoying the nightlife at Marina Bay) and we'd usually end up getting some type of dragon fruit or star fruit smoothee at the end. Going to multiple hawker centres are an absolute must in Singapore. It's also kind of nice that the food here is pretty cheap - you go from buying $20 vodka sodas one night to spending $10 total on an iced coffee, smoothee, egg and cheese prata and chicken rice the next day. There was an ad that was playing non-stop in the Marina Bay Sands that featured David Beckham. He had this smug look on his face as he turned to the left with the Marina Bay Sands towers behind him. We tried, unsuccessfully to emulate that throughout our time in Singapore. Then we tried mixing Trump's typical pucked up lips into the post.
I guess it didn't really work - it's one of those "you had to have been there" things.
Below is a link to the ad - in ultra uber widescreen:

The infinity pool at the top where you can look across the bay while having a cocktail was amazing. Ever since I saw pictures of this place online I wanted to stay here and experience that pool. So glad I did.
The red building in the background of this picture is the Oasis Hotel - which was still under construction when I was in Singapore. Do a Google image search for it...it's a really really impressive building.
Even in this picture you can see how they're trying to make this building "green" by incorporating flora into the hotel's exterior.
